Although a staple of Cajun music song, the origins are uncertain. Different versions turn up in Cajun, pop, rock and blues. Everything from Harry Belafonte to the Byrds! The Cajun 10-bar arrangement gives the song a particularly distinctive feel.
3. Orange Blossom Mandolin (E. Rose)

This is a mandolin and guitar take on the bluegrass fiddle tune The Orange Blossom Special.
4. Vincent Black Lightning (Richard Thompson)
James – vocals and bass: Aaron - vocals and acoustic guitar: Ray - mandolin: Geraldine - accordion: Leon - electric guitar: Dave - drums and tambourine.
We heard a recording of Scottish group Burach play this fantastic Richard Thompson song and it inspired our take on it.
5. The Ghost is Home (Aaron Dillon)

A song inspired by the idea that in some places certain living people can linger.
6.Wafus Two Step (trad arranged Ray Barron)

We learned this two-step from accordion player Big Nick (Tom Nickel).

This is a Cajun blues written by Louisiana musician Lawrence Walker.
8. The Economy (Aaron Dillon)

Aaron wrote this after a conversation with a senior citizen who asked him “are you one of those younger folk now that buy stuff you don’t want, with money you don’t have, to impress people you don’t like?”
9. Pine Grove Blues (Nathan Abshire)

We learned this song from Cajun accordion player Wilson Savoy of The Pine Leaf Boys.
10. Moonshiner’s Daughter (Lonny Flemmer and John Wheller )
James - vocals and bass: Aaron - vocals and acoustic guitar: Ray - mandolin and fiddle: Leon - electric guitar: Anna - vocals: Geraldine - accordion: Dave - drums.
We first heard this song performed by the great American band Hayseed Dixiewhen they played in The Cuiscín Lán bar in Cork some years ago.
